New! Direct Flight of Banjarmasin – Makassar Route was Officially Opened

BANJARBARU – Syamsudin Noor Airport welcomed new flight routes opened by Lion Air. Starting on August 23, 2017, direct flight from Banjarmasin to Makassar and vice versa was officially opened. This added to the list of new direct flight routes at Syamsudin Noor Airport within the last two months (July-August, 2017), such as from Banjarmasin to Palangkaraya, Batam and Makassar.

The opening of the direct flight will facilitate Syamsudin Noor Airport users. Previously, the passengers had to transit in Surabaya to then continued the flight to Makassar from Banjarmasin using Lion Air airline, now the transit was no longer needed. Besides saving time, it also saved cost.

For the service users who wanted to know the flight schedule, General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan stated that “Lion Air departure schedule from Banjarmasin with flight number JT 520 is at 18.00, while the arrival schedule from Makassar with flight number JT 523 is at 21.00”.

Welcoming ceremony of the plane crew and the first passengers of Lion Air flight with flight number JT 523 from Makassar was conducted at 21.00 at the arrival terminal of Syamsudin Noor Airport. Airport Manager of Lion Air Group, Ganesha Bayu Baskoro and General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport welcomed the arrival of the first passengers at the arrival gate. The welcoming of Lion Air’s first passengers from Palangkaraya were festive with flower ceremony to the first passenger representative by Lion Air Group Management Banjarmasin and General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport accompanied by his staffs and Syamsudin Noor Airport Ambassador.

“Welcome Lion Air passengers on the first flight of Banjarmasin – Makassar route”, said General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan while handing over flowers and memento merchandise.

He also shared his wishes. “Furthermore, we have been observing the suggestions and needs of the people of South Kalimantan who want new routes to a number of tourist destinations, especially through our social media, hopefully we can accomodate in the near future”, Handy Heryudhitiawan said.
