Syamsudin Noor Airport Provided Mobile Health Program for the Community

BANJARBARU – Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin continued to implement social programs as a form of corporate commitment to support a better community life. One of the efforts was to improve the community health through health services for infants, pregnant women and community, especially in the area around the airport called as the Mobile Health Program. This program was a free health care program for the community who did not have adequate health facilities in their neighborhood.

On August, 21, 2017, the Mobile Health Program team conducted a program at Posyandu Assyfa along with Medical Officer from Puskesmas Guntung Manggis to 46 children under five and 19 general patients. In addition to free health examination, they were provided with vitamin A, socialization of MR vaccine (measles and rubella) and weight weighing.

General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan explained that “During the period of April – May, 2017, we have distributed 52 million for mobile health program spreading in Syamsudin Noor Village, Guntung Payung, Guntung Manggis, East Landasan Ulin, and Cempaka Village”.

Furthermore, he added that “From the villages, there are 14 (fourteen) Posyandus such as Posyandu Panai Sei Tiung, Posyandu Yakut Cempaka, Posyandu RT 37 Cempaka, Posyandu Anggrek, Posyandu Batu Intan, Posyandu Lemo Bangka, Posyandu Batu Ampar, Posyandu Anak Soleh, Posyandu Alamanda, Posyandu Mawar, Posyandu Wella, Posyandu Lestari, Posyandu Assifa, and Posyandu Bunga Rampai.”

The total number of mobile health program patients in April-May 2017 were 954 patients consisting of 620 under five patients, 286 general patients, and 48 pregnant women. The total package of medicine was 632 packages. In addition to providing free medical examination service and free medicines, the patients were provided with additional food (nutritional intake) in the form of milk and biscuits.

 

The next implementation of Mobile Health Program is expected to be better for the provision of health assistance to the community by the addition of checking blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid so that the program will be more beneficial for the community.

As for June this year, Mobile Health Program was temporarily closed due to Ramadhan month. So far, Mobile Health Program ran well because of the synergy and support from Puskesmas Guntung Payung and Guntung Manggis as well as the good response from the community. (PR BDJ).
