Banjarbaru -The Management of Syamsudin Noor Airport airport has ready to serve the departure of hajj pilgrim candidates 1437 H/2016. This year the hajj pilgrims will be transported using Saudi Arabian Airlines with the embarkation flight schedule or the first departure on Tuesday, 9 August 2016 at 1:15 Central Indonesian Time in the morning.
Consisting of embarkation of regular pilgrims and departure of Antara pilgrims from Central Kalimantan, the hajj pilgrim candidates who will be departed as many as 4,198 people consisting of South Kalimantan (3,048), Central Kalimantan (1,080 people), Indonesia Hajj supervising team (14 people), as well as Indonesia Hajj medical team (42 people).
“The first phase or first embarkation this year we welcome the Saudi Arabian Airlines as the carrier that will transport hajj pilgrim candidates as many as 295 people and hajj officers as many as 5 people. Type of aircraft used is Airbus 330-300 with flight number SV 5901 for 9 August 2016.” said General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan.
Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to all those involved in organizing of hajj this year. “Thanks to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Saudi Arabian Airlines, DAMRI, Port Health Office, Quarantine Office of Ports, Customs and Excise, Immigration, Indonesian Army and police, PT Gapura Angkasa, as well as catering which, continues to the success of implementation of the Hajj this year.”
Related departure procedure, one day before departure the hajj pilgrim candidates must already be in the pilgrim hostel of Banjarbaru then baggage will be submitted to the Hajj Committee for inspection. Six hours before departure the baggage will be sent to the airport up to 30 minutes before departure the hajj pilgrim candidates must already be in airplane to keep the airline on time performance and support a smooth departure schedule.
The Management of Syamsudin Noor Airport itself has prepared, coordinated, and checked the readiness of facilities and supporting equipments of pilgrims’ transportation in 2016 that includes the supporting facilities of aviation safety services, airport services, airport security, and other supporting facilities and the readiness of human resources and procedures to be used.
“For the security has prepared 32 licensed personnel, 2 units x-ray, metal handled, and other supporting equipments. As for the Airport Fire Fighting and Rescue we have 34 licensed personnel, 3 units ambulance and operational vehicle such as rescue tender and foam tender to anticipate when undesirable things happen.” said Handy Heryudhitiawan.
In addition to the departure or hajj embarkation, Syamsudin Noor Airport will also serve disembarkation or arrival of the hajj pilgrims held from 17 to 30 September 2016.
