Transportation Ministry To Asses Syamsudin Noor Airport Service

Banjarbaru - Syamsudin Noor Airport welcomes the prime service assessment team from the Ministry of Transportation on August 29, 2017 led by A. Zaky as Head of Sub Good Governance Service Quality Field Infrastructure Transportation, Railways, and Supporters to conduct the evaluation of excellent public service among the Ministry of Transportation Environment until 31 August 2017.

Ruly Artha as Airport Operation & Services Department Head of Syamsudin Noor Airport at the opening of evaluation of service excellence explain about the efforts that have been done by management to improve competitiveness and maintain excellent service to serve user or customers.

"To improve the quality of human resources we have conducted operational benchmarks such as Changi Airport for Emergency Exercise, Kuala Lumpur International Airport for Excellent Service, Adi Sutjipto Airport Yogyakarta for Aviation Security Exercise. Internal training also has been conducted including Hospitality Training, Enhancement Program of Airport Management Knowledge, Operation Workshop, Character Building Operator, Salvage Knowledge and Training for Trainer. "

"Syamsudin Noor Airport also cooperates with Tjilik Riwut Airport in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan to improve the operational service of the aviation (emergency)." Add Ruly Artha.

The quality of service at Syamsudin Noor Airport terminal is also at top of the priority by utilizing automatic equipments, hygiene officers with Indonesian toilet association standards, hygiene implementation procedures based on ISO 9001: 2015 and the use of environmentally friendly hygiene tools with support from Angkasa Pura Support as a subsidiary. The creative team was formed specifically to provide more innovation to the airport service as it has done the exhibition, art performances for customers, etc.

As a result of these efforts Syamsudin Noor Airport has won several awards including prestigious prime service award from the Ministry of Transportation, the largest taxpayer award from Banjarbaru City Government, the achievement of ISO 9001: 2008 certificate, the award for the support of promoting micro, small, and medium enterprises, Marketeer of the year from Mark Plus Inc, as well as Institution that support the prevention of drug trafficking from National Anti-Narcotis Agency of South Kalimantan. Including for service user satisfaction or Customer Satisfaction Index also increased from 4.13 in 2016 to 4.31 in 2017.

"We hope this year's assessment from the Ministry of Transportation is also good so it will further increase the motivation of all team. Especially in the year of 2018 when Syamsudin Noor Airport is planned to be assessed by Airport Council International. "Ruly Artha said.

On exposure of Syamsudin Noor Airport Management, A. Zaky from the Ministry of Transportation responded "We appreciate the efforts of Syamsudin Noor Airport despite the existing terminal conditions. We expect an ever-expanding service while still using the airport or the old terminal to ensure public trust over Syamsudin Noor Airport services especially when new airport is still being build.” He says

The assessment of excellent service by the Ministry of Transportation itself is based on instruments such as vision and mission as well as the motto of service, service standard, service announcement, procedure mechanism system, human resources, facilities and services, complaint handling, public satisfaction survey, public information system and productivity in achieving service target.
