State-Owned Enterprises Educate, Chapter Of The Country’s Intellectualization

Banjarbaru - The Syamsudin Noor Airport visited the Banjarbaru Aviation Vocational High-School on Wednesday, 28 September 2016 to implement the BUMN Mengajar (State-Owned Enterprises Educate) program. Greeted warmly by the Principal and his board, the team headed straight to the classroom at the 2nd floor which was soon packed with children of the 11th and 12th grades who since morning has been eager to learn about the world of airport knowledge.

BUMN Mengajar itself is a program initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and facilitated by the overall State-Owned enterprises whose working zone cover the entire 34 Provinces of Indonesia, as it also a part of “Building the stakeholders comprehension regarding role of Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises by taking part in the country’s intellectualization through education to Indonesia’s younger generation.”

Principal of the Banjarbaru Aviation Vocational High-School, Mr. Faidilah in his introduction claimed his happiness and gratitude for being selected to be part of the BUMN Mengajar program, because aside from being an event of learning, it can also serve as a direct discussion forum with the administrator of Syamsuddin Noor Airport.

“We are most thankful to the Management of Syamsudin Noor Airport. Our sincere apology for this modest welcome, we hope that in the future, Syamsudin Noor Airport through their company social activities can also support the advancement of our school. The students here are very keen to learn, and hopefully from them there are those who will qualify for the Human Resources recruitment at the Syamsudin Noor Airport.” he aspires.

The General Manager, Handy Heryudithiawan started the lesson by showing a video presented in form of a demo, allowing it to invite the students’ enthusiasm. Subsequently he elaborated the progress of aviation subject from era to era, the professions in the world of aviation, to the contribution of aviation world both in Human Resources recruitment or the world economy.

“The aviation field requires plenty of quality Human Resources. It is estimated that Indonesia will be short of 3000 aircraft technician with sufficient experience by 2019. That’s why you need to study diligently, and let us together move our aviation forward,” Handy Heryudithiawan motivated in his lecture.

Upon that lecture the students seemed very eager to ask several questions. And a few quizzes those were asked by the General Manager were also answered correctly by the students.

Furthermore, Handy Heryudithiawan added “The global aviation industry today has absorbed as many as 58 million people with its economy value reaching up to USD 2,4 Billion. In year 2034, it is for seen that Indonesia will be market of 270 million passengers (this is our opportunity to evolve)” he went on.

The program became more festive and induced the students’ enthusiasm because there were many prizes given away, from cash to obviously facilities to support the educational activities at the Banjarbaru Aviation Vocational High-School."We invite the students, the younger generations to interact with us through social media, should there be any questions or suggestions and critiques. Please do, we are open for you who are eager to learn,” Handy Heryudithiawan concluded the lecture session.
