kembali ke listBanjarbaru - the General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport accompanied by the board of Syamsudin Noor Airport development project on Thursday, 13 October 2016, once more executed the Media Visit program. This time the South Kalimantan TVRI was the visited media due to its strategic role in broadcasting information and educational programs to the public, especially in South Kalimantan.
“Although the Syamsudin Noor Airport development project does not enlist in the National Strategic Program (PSN), the project will still go on. This of course has nothing to do with whether or not the airport undergoes construction. It’s just that if we are enlisted in the PSN we might be prioritized. However so we are still committed that the airport will still be constructed.” explained the General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudithiawan as he answered in the Q&A session of discussion with the board of South Kalimantan TVRI.
“We are accompanied by the Supervision and Securing Team to the Government and Development of South Kalimantan Province (TP4DP) in the expansion process of the new airport, so hopefully there will be no significant obstructions,” he added.
In relation to support of the South Kalimantan TVRI in announcing the news of new airport expansion, Head of the South Kalimantan TVRI Station commented “We always mobilize TVRI personnel to continuously review the progress and report it. Moving forward we suggest that the Syamsudin Noor Airport can elevate promotions and socializations on the advantages the new airport expansion, starting from the increase of economy climate, work opportunities, and also tourism.”
When asked about the involvement of surrounding communities in the upcoming work of airport expansion project, the General Manager described that there will be local components to be taken aboard. For instance in Balikpapan there at least 40% of works those are exerted by the local communities around the airport which underwent land acquisition. Once the project started, Syamsudin Noor Airport will also require at least 2000-2500 work forces which will involve the surrounding community.
He also give an example of how massive the influence of airport construction to the growth of economy as such has been happening in the District of Badung, Bali which experienced the highest economy growth yp to 17% when the Ngurah Rai airport commenced construction. Various businesses from transportation, accommodation and others started to flourish.
Even prior to the airport expansion, PT Angkasa Pura I had been making the effort to contribute in pushing the Small-Middle Businesses (UMKM) through the partnership fund reaching up to 23 billion.
In response to such, the South Kalimantan TVRI offered partnership in one of their leading programs “Ayo Usaha” (Let’s Do Business) in order to introduce the progress of UMKM.

The visit to South Kalimantan TVRI Station was then concluded by souvenir exchange as mutual tokens of appreciation.
